Cowal World Championships is the largest Highland games in the world - First held in 1894, the event is steeped in history and tradition.

Dunoon was formed by its history. Though the castle is long gone, the grand villas that were built in the 1820s and following decades continue to occupy the best spots on the shoreline's promenade.
